Petaluma Home Ransacked, Burglarized: Police
The victim found money and personal property were taken in the burglary.
PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma homeowner was the victim of a residential burglary Monday, police said.
The resident arrived home in the 800 block of Macmahan Way — near Maria Drive and N. Mcdowell Boulevard — around 6:35 a.m. Monday and discovered his house was burglarized by someone who forced entry through the back door, Petaluma police Lt. Matthew Parnow said.
The home was ransacked and money and personal property were missing, Parnow said.

The burglar or burglars were already gone when the homeowner got home.
Officers obtained video surveillance of the burglary from neighbors while additional police personnel lifted fingerprints from inside the residence.

"While this is still an active investigation, we are hopeful such evidence will lead us to a potential suspect(s)," Parnow said. "We encourage anyone who has information regarding the incident to call the Petaluma Police Department."
Parnow reminded people to remain vigilant and to say something if they see anything suspicious in their neighborhoods or anywhere else in the city.
