PETALUMA, CA -- If you have a lead foot when behind the wheel, beware -- Petaluma police now have a couple of more tools to help identify speeding drivers.
The PD says it has received two Kustom Signal Radar Trailers which are to be utilized in areas of the city where vehicles are reported as traveling in excess of posted speed limits. The trailers, which cost $19,000, were purchased with a portion of an $80,000 grant received by the Petaluma Police Department from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The trailers are radar equipped and will show the speeds of vehicles which are driven toward the trailer with a digital readout. The posted speed limit will also be on the trailer and the digital reading flashes once the vehicle is in excess of the posted speed limit.
