Petaluma Police Look For Suspect in Child Abuse Case

Charges relating to child pornography and child abuse have been filed against a Petaluma woman. Now, police look for a second suspect.

PETALUMA-Police in Petaluma are looking for a second suspect in a child abuse/child pornography case.

On November 17, 2015, detectives from the Petaluma Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Wilson Street. They were assisted by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI had contacted the Petaluma Police Department concerning a possible link to an investigation of their own concerning child abuse / child pornography.

Police say Tawnya Lynn Hopper, 42 yrs, a Petaluma resident, was arrested for charges including acting in concert with another to commit oral copulation against a victim incapable of giving consent due to developmental disability, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at Sonoma County Jail and remains in custody. Additional charges relating to child pornography offenses have since been filed.

During the course of the investigation, an adult male (attached photo) was determined to be a person of interest.
