Petaluma Police Nab Armed Man Suspected Of Shoplifting From Kohl's Store

Petaluma police have arrested a Santa Rosa man on suspicion of shoplifting at a Kohl's department store.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Petaluma police arrested a Santa Rosa man Monday on suspicion of shoplifting at a Kohl's store.

Police received a report around 6:10 p.m. May 8 about store security guards pursuing a man who allegedly took merchandise and then while trying to escape, brandished a knife while demanding that the guards stop pursuing him.

The suspect fled the Kohl's store at 1363 N. McDowell Blvd. to a nearby business where he was found hiding in a restroom, police said.

Randall Hendry, 34, was identified by the guards as the suspect, and he was in possession of the knife used in the theft and keys that were stolen from an employee of another business, police said.

Hendry was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of brandishing a deadly weapon, commercial burglary, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property, police said.
