Petaluma River Cleanup Set For Saturday

Hey, nature lovers -- here's a chance to help conserve the Petaluma River, as well as protect habitat and improve water quality.

PETALUMA, CA -- Hey, nature lovers -- here's a chance to help conserve the Petaluma River, plus protect habitat and improve water quality.

Participants in the Spring Petaluma River Cleanup are expected to gather with at the Petaluma Marina this Saturday and remove trash and debris from 14 waterways in the watershed. Volunteers will be able to enjoy snacks, a BBQ lunch and refreshments.

The Petaluma Police Dept. says it will outfit participants with all supplies you'll need to get out there and help keep the river clean.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 6 at Petaluma Marina, 781 Baywood Dr., Petaluma.

Participants are asked to bring a water bottle, hat, shoes that can get muddy and excitement, as well as a willingness to get your hands dirty in stewardship to the Petaluma Watershed.
