Petaluma Under Flood Advisory; Several Roads Closed
A National Weather Service flood advisory was extended through Monday evening for Petaluma and Sonoma County.

PETALUMA, CA — As another in a series of atmospheric rivers dumped rain Monday on Petaluma, the North Bay was under a flood advisory and several roads were closed due to flooding.
A National Weather Service flood advisory was issued Monday morning and was expected to remain in effect until 5:45 p.m. Monday for Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties.
"Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall and runoff continues," the National Weather Service said. "Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

"At 2:33 p.m., gauge reports indicated elevated water levels due to excessive rainfall and runoff. This is causing urban and small-stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include...Santa Rosa, Napa, Petaluma, San Rafael, Novato, Rohnert Park, Windsor, American Canyon, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Larkspur, Healdsburg, Sonoma, Corte Madera, Tiburon, Cloverdale, Fairfax, Sebastopol, Cotati and St. Helena."
In Petaluma, police advised residents of Leisure Lake Mobile Home Park to consider evacuating Monday morning because of the flood advisory and road closures surrounding the neighborhood.

"Please note: the only way out is Southbound on Stony Point Road from Denman," Petaluma police said. "The Community Center is open for shelter."
Anyone who needed assistance with evacuating was told to call 707-762-2727 or 911.
Road Closures

As of 2 p.m. Monday, the following roads remained closed in Petaluma.
- Rainsville Road between Stony Point and Liberty Road;
- Stony Point is closed between Petaluma Boulevard North and Pepper Road;
- Petaluma Boulevard North is closed from Corona Road to US 101;
- Industrial Drive is closed from Corona Road to Petaluma Boulevard North.
"While the water is beginning to recede in most areas, we anticipate more rain coming our way starting at midnight," Petaluma police said.
Rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday in Petaluma, followed by a break in the rain Thursday, according to AccuWeather.
Flood Warning For Russian River
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Russian River at Johnsons Beach near Guerneville from late Monday night until further notice.
Minor flooding is forecast. Lower Mill Street in Guerneville and Old Bohemian Highway in Monte Rio are expected to flood.
The river was expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight Monday and continue rising to 32 feet. This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.8 feet on April 5, 1941.
