Petaluma Volunteers Needed by County Library System

Volunteers will receive training on how to teach adult literacy.

The Adult Literacy Program of the Sonoma County Library is looking for adult volunteer tutors in Sonoma and Petaluma. The volunteers will work at the local library teaching adults how to read and write English. The program is learner centered and designed to help the adult students achieve their personal literacy goals. There is no cost to the tutors or students and a wide variety of teaching materials are provided.

An Orientation Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. at the Sonoma Valley Branch Library, 755 West Napa St., Sonoma.  No registration is necessary for the Orientation. The mandatory Tutor Training will be on Saturday, August 24th, 10:00 am – 3:30 pm and registration will be done at the Orientation Meeting.
