Police Make 2 Child Porn Arrests

Police received tips related to obscene digital files and after following up, made the arrests.

PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department recently made two arrests related to child pornography.

The first arrest happened at 1:20 p.m. March 8 on Brighton View Circle. Thomas Price, 35, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after Petaluma police detectives investigated a tip related to illegal, obscene, digital images or data, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan McGreevy said.

During the ensuing investigation, detectives established probable cause that showed Price had illegal and obscene material and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Price was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of possessing images or video of children engaging in or simulating sexual conduct; secretly recording a person full or partially undressed without their consent or knowledge in an area where that person has a reasonable expectation of privacy; and annoying or molesting a child.

2nd Arrest Made 5 Days Later

Another arrest was made the following week. Similarly, detectives received a tip about illegal images and data, and established probable cause the person had obscene material with the intent to distribute it, McGreevy said.

Angel Vega, 26, was taken into custody at 12:14 p.m. March 13 on Rainier Circle in Petaluma.

Vega was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of possessing images or data of children engaging in or simulating sexual conduct; and distributing or possessing with the intent to distribute images or data of a child engaging in, or simulating sexual conduct.

A records search indicated both men were released from jail.
