NORTH BAY, CA -- Police are looking for the public's help in identifying the person who tried to rob a Sonoma County sandwich shop this week.
At around 4:15 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 15, a man attempted to rob Bianchini’s Sandwich and Salad Market in northeast Petaluma. The suspect, described as a white middle-aged adult male of thin build, wearing aviator sunglasses, a green sweater vest, and blue jeans, is said to have loitered in the business for 30 to 45 minutes before the attempted robbery, and didn't conduct any business inside prior to the incident.
The suspect eventually approached the counter, produced a gun from a reusable shopping bag he was carrying, and demanded money. The clerk ran from the counter and called the police. The suspect left without receiving any money and fled the store. It is unknown how he left the area. No one was injured during the robbery.
