Suspect Exchanges Bogus Returns For Kohl's Gift Cards

Police are looking for this bold thief, who took new merchandise on the racks directly to the return counter to exchange for gift cards.

PETALUMA - Police in Petaluma are looking for the public’s help in identifying a shoplifting suspect.

On Friday around 6:30 p.m., the suspect entered a Kohl’s department store, selected several items from their display areas, went to the store’s return counter and returned the items as if he had previously purchased the items, police said.

The suspect was given gift cards for the items he had just stolen, and he fled the store, police said.

The suspect as seen in the surveillance image is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, about 25 years old, with short brown hair. He is unshaven.
