Police Blotter: Stolen Acura, Smashed Car Windows, Hit & Run at Ace

The Piedmont police blotter from April 19 through noon of April 22 includes a stolen Acura, three cases of broken car windows, a hit and run accident where the fleeing driver refused to provide information and a dead skunk and turkey.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter below were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Friday, April 19

Identity theft – A woman in the 400 block of Highland Ave. reported that she was advised by the IRS that someone had filed taxes with her Social Security number.

Dead skunk – A dead skunk was reported at 11:05 a.m. on Oakland Avenue.

Non-injury accident – A single-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at 2:11 p.m. in the 100 block of La Salle Avenue.

Saturday, April 20

Ripped-up plants – A woman in the 100 block of Greenbank Avenue reported that a next-door neighbor came and ripped out some plants.

Dead turkey – A dead turkey was reported at 11:34 a.m. at Moraga Avenue and Maxwelton Road.

Sunday, April 21

DUI arrest – A 1:20 a.m., police arrested a driver at Highland and Craig avenues on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Vandalism – At 3:17 a.m., a man in the first block of Wildwood Avenue reported that someone threw a rock through a vehicle window. 

Stolen vehicle located – At 5:40 a.m., police found a vehicle with the engine running in the 5000 block of Park Boulevard and determined it had been stolen in Walnut Creek.

Found Visa debit card – At 12:03 p.m., a citizen turned in a Visa debit card found in the 700 block of Highland Avenue.

Auto burglary – A man in the first block of La Salle Avenue reported a vehicle broken into the previous night.

Auto theft – At 1:31 p.m., a man in the 1100 block of Warfield Avenue reported a stolen four-door blue Acura Integra that was last seen Friday night.

Vandalism – A resident of the first block of Wildwood Avenue reported a vehicle window shattered sometime during the previous night.

Hit and run – At 7:53 p.m., a woman reported a hit and run accident in the Ace parking lot at 1221 Grand Avenue. The other driver refused to give his information and drove off.

Monday, April 22

Auto burglary – At 7:01 a.m., a resident in the 1100 block of Winsor Avenue reported a shattered vehicle window.
