Poway Runners Show Strong Turnout for Carlsbad Marathon and Half
Ninety-one locals laced up for the race yesterday.
Sunday marked the annual Carlsbad Marathon and Half, and Poway had a strong representation at the finish line thanks to the 91 local runners who turned out for the event.
Vito Baca was the fastest Poway marathoner, finishing with a 3:30:31 and placing 140th overall. He was among the 15 Poway runners who completed the marathon, which you can see a complete list of here. Mario Macias, 30, from Alamosa, CO came in first place overall for the marathon at 2:22:24.
For the half-marathon, Cody Morales led the Poway group, finishing with a 1:29:44 and placing 125th overall. There were 75 other Poway runners who also ran that course, and you can see a complete list of them here. Ezkyas Sisay, 23, of Flagstaff, AZ came in first overall for the half marathon with a time of 1:04:43.
