Discovery Isle Preschool Students Raise $3,175 for Local Families

Students held Olympic-themed trike-a-thons to raise money for local families in need

Students at three Discovery Isle Preschools in Carlsbad and Poway recently held Olympic-themed trike-a-thons to raise more than $3,100 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Ronald McDonald House of San Diego, a nonprofit organization that offers a supportive home-like community that eases burdens, lessens stress, and enhances the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families in California. Students pedaled with purpose and big smiles, proving that even small, local efforts can make a big difference in the lives of families in need.

Discovery Isle instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
