Discovery Isle® Preschoolers Donate Diapers to San Diego Food Bank

Students at Discovery Isle® Preschool in Poway Donate More Than 280 Diapers and 500 Wipes to San Diego Food Bank's Diaper Bank Program

Students at Discovery Isle Preschool on Ted Williams Parkway in Poway recently donated more than 280 diapers and 500 wipes to San Diego Food Bank’s Diaper Bank Program. Students held a donation drive as part of National Diaper Need Awareness Week, which draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the United States. Following the collection, students prepared the donations for delivery to the San Diego Food Bank, who will distribute the items to local families in need. Through this annual initiative, students learned the importance of helping others in their community.

Discovery Isle instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
