DUI Checkpoint Scheduled Friday In Poway
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

POWAY, CA — A DUI checkpoint is scheduled Friday night in northern San Diego County.
The checkpoint is slated from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location in the city of Poway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. During the DUI and driver's license checkpoint, authorities will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with deputies checking drivers for proper licensing.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, according to the department.
