Firefighters Contain 25-Acre Poway Fire

Firefighters have stopped the spread of a grass fire burning near SR-67 and Poway Road.

POWAY, CA — Firefighters have contained a 25-acre vegetation fire that burned near State Route 67 and Poway Road.

Firefighters have reopened State Route 67, but Poway Road remains closed.

No injuries, structural damage, or evacuations were reported.

The fire broke out just after 2 p.m. and spread at a moderate rate of speed, Cal Fire said. Several intersections on Espola Road, Scripps Poway Parkway, and SR-67 were closed.
