London’s long-awaited third Olympic Games begin July 27 with Open Ceremonies. Billions will watch TV broadcasts, chatter on social media sites or listen to radio in Third World nations. Companies will spend billions as well to reach those audiences and capitalize on the public interest. But should media focus on medal counts—nation vs. nation—or celebrate the Olympians no matter what country?
