Poway Titans wins 5th Annual Battle for the Belt Title in Wrestling

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Battle for the Belt Wrestling Tournament-1-18-25-Temecula High School-Temecula, CA: The Poway Titans known for their wrestling tradition and winning various tournaments all over the country along with key dual matches against tough competitive school won their 5th Annual Battle for the Belt Tournament that was held at Temecula High School sent 8 wrestlers to the finals and 6 champions. Overall the Titans have won 10 Battle for the Belt Matt Titles. Years were as follows 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024

Poway performers as follows:

Max Orbeta at 138 pounds with a 6-3 win over Joshua Requena of Camarillo

Robert Jones at 132 pounds took 2nd place as he was defeated by Carl Humphrey of Sultana 11-7

Arseni Kikinou at 144 pounds with a 5-1 win over Braden Priest of Bakersfield

Mario Carini at 175 pounds defeated Poway teammate Gunner Neal who is the son of Cal Bakersfield NCAA Champion Steve Neal by tech fall 17-1

Dominic Dotson of Poway at 190 pounds finished in second place was defeated by Levis Burr by a technical fall 24-8

Angelo Posada at 215 pinned Jordan Schaum 17 seconds

Daniel Moylan at 275 defeated Justice El Sayed Temecula 4-3
