- He is a member of the Bronco Ambassadors, a peer counselor on campus, and is on the basketball team. As a Bronco Ambassador, Carter Lankford represents RBHS in the community and during visits to elementary and middle schools in the Poway School District. Although he struggled to learn online during COVID-19, Lankford also learned how to get things done in his own time. Last spring, he created a tutoring group called Coaching with Carter to help students from kindergarten to 12th grade overcome struggles with online learning. - Rancho Bernardo will play in Arizona for the 65+ USTA National Championships, Feb. 11-13. The Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club’s 65+ tennis team won the national crown in back-to-back years (2018-19) after losing the finals there in 2017. Playing on hardcourts in Florida in 2020, Rancho Bernardo failed to win the national title. “We were the oldest team in the sectionals,’’ said Rancho Bernardo player Joe Zesbaugh. “We average about 73 years old."
