Attempted Sexual Assault Reported in Rancho Peñasquitos

A man with who hid his face behind a cloth attempted to sexually assault a woman in her Rancho Peñasquitos home early this morning, San Diego Police Department said.

Lt. Charles Kay said the attempted crime took place at a home near Rancho Peñasquitos Boulevard and Via Del Sud at around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning while the victim was sleeping.

The victim was woken up by the unknown male, who is described as standing between 5’09” and 5’11” tall with a thin build, police said.

Authorities said the suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a striped shirt under the sweatshirt and dark colored shorts.
