Boris and other loveable pets are waiting for their forever homes at "It's the Pits" adoption center. Not sure you are ready to adopt?   2. Individuals experiencing financial difficulties may need help to provide food for their pets. That is why Kahoots Pet Stores in San Diego County — including the store in Rancho Bernardo — are having a food drive. Donations will go to the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s AniMeals program. If you could donate unopened, unexpired, and non-prescription dry, or canned dog and cat food, please bring your donation directly to Kahoots by Dec. 24.   3. If you loved making gingerbread houses as a kid, check out the elaborate, life-sized gingerbread house in the lobby of the Rancho Bernardo Inn. This magnificent gingerbread house is made of 190 gingerbread panels, and is decorated with 200 pounds of candy, marshmallows, pretzels, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream cones, and fondant.
