Here are the top stories in Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch today:
- Coming in 2022 — Food Scrap Recycling. Like it or not, this change is coming soon. Residents will need to dispose of food scraps in green yard waste bins. These will be picked up with weekly trash service. If we can reduce organic waste in landfills by 75% by 2025, it would be equivalent removing 1.7 million cars from the road, according to CalRecycle. - These families lived with no running water, electricity, or home. That is why Rancho Bernardo Rotarians joined with other groups to build homes for these impoverished families. The area has no municipal water supply, so the Rotarians built outhouses as well. Without electric infrastructure in the area, a solar grid is planned to provide electricity.
