- Neighbors complaining about painful, itchy bites? It's all over Rancho Bernardo. It's the talk of Nextdoor. It might just be the usual No-See-Ums biting us. Or it might be something more sinister. It might be the Aedes Mosquito which has been detected in San Diego County. These invasive mosquitoes, which are not native to San Diego, can cause Zika, Yellow Fever, and several other diseases. It would be wise to empty all standing water, flower pots, bird baths, green pools, etc. (San Diego County)
- Local dance company performs Sweet Suite Beethoven. On Saturday and Sunday, modern dance company Mojalet Dance Collective will perform Sweet Suite Beethoven at Vine Arts Village at the Bernardo Winery. The company, created by Faith Jensen-Ismay, welcomes guest choreographers Blythe Barton and Patricia Sandback. Inside performance is available on Saturday, inside and outside performances are available on Sunday. (San Diego Magazine)
- Want to avoid the traffic? Leave from the Rancho Bernardo Transit Station and visit the oceanfront area, Little Italy, museums, the bay, or the beach. City officials are offering free rides on public transit through the month of September in celebration of the launch of the region's new fare processing system, PRONTO. The MTS buses and trolleys, and NTCD SPRINTER, BREEZE & Flex vehicles are free to individuals using the PRONTO app or PRONTO cards for all of September. Try public transportation and save yourself the bother of driving. (City Times Media)
