- County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer supports accurate medical information. The County Supervisor (Rancho Bernardo and 4s Ranch) voted in favor of Agenda Item 19 to reinforce accurate medical information and counter disproven criticisms about vaccine safety. Such criticisms include: that the vaccine does not work, that the vaccine contains microchips, that the vaccine causes miscarriages. Such unfounded fears about vaccines have left San Diegans vulnerable to the delta variant, leading to a resurgence of COVID-19 infections and filling hospitals to capacity. 250 residents against Item 19 attended the meeting to express their point of view. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)
- San Diego County offices will be closed for Labor Day, Sept. 6. All county libraries, the Registrar of Voters and all mail ballot drop-off locations will be closed. In 4S Ranch the Sports Park Office will be closed. County animal shelters will also be closed. Essential services, including law enforcement and emergency animal services, will continue. County offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 7. (Press Release Desk)
- The Rancho Bernardo Community Council hosts its annual Safety Fair. Save the date: Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, 9:30 a.m. - noon. Bring your appetite: the Belgium Waffle food truck and the Rush coffee truck will be there. Visit 25+ vendors, free CPR training (not certification), and police and fire department vehicles to explore. Free face painting, free games, 4 Paws of Love therapy dogs, and more! (Facebook)
