Here are the top stories in Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch today:

  1. The SDPD is warning homeowners to be alert and lock their doors after a series of burglaries in several communities in northern parts of the city and county. Perpetrators are organized, skilled, and trained. They use patio furniture, ladders, and they even scale the walls to break into the second story of homes, looking for high-end jewelry, handbags, and cash. They are fully covered with long pants and sleeves, hoods, masks, and gloves. They break in right after sunset, targeting homes that back up to green belts, golf courses, or hiking trails. They work in teams of four, with one as the getaway driver, and they are working our areas. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (10News)
  2. Good news! The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that we are close to pre-pandemic unemployment levels. Unemployment figures for November show the rate has improved since October in the Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch areas. In addition, unemployment is now lower than it was after the pandemic first struck. Doing a "Dry January" or just looking for a flavorful alternative to regular cocktails? Here's a suggestion: try a non-alcoholic drink from our partners at Betera. Created by an award-winning chef from natural botanicals, Betera’s drinks come in 3 flavors — Ginger-Orange, Elderflower-Lime and Rhubarb-Hibiscus. We tried Ginger-Orange, and it was excellent — lightly effervescent, floral with a hint of bitterness and the sippability of a cocktail.
