Poll: Will Sale of Padres to O’Malley Group Return Club to World Series?
Pending OK, deal worth $800 million puts team in hands of family that once owned the Dodgers.
The sixth owner of the San Diego Padres will be the family of the former owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to U-T San Diego. A spokesman for the buyers was quoted as saying: “We will field exciting and winning teams.” But will the so-called O’Malley Group, which includes PGA star Phil Mickelson, shoot par for the course or ace the hole—and return San Diego to the World Series for a third time?
