Rancho Bernardo Monday Essentials: Police Presence and Money in Politics
Find out about the new spin on the Filner scandal, good news/bad news about RB crime and what a Facebook commenter has to say about money in politics.

Mondays can be tough, so we're making it easy for you to stay on top of what you need to know about Rancho Bernardo.
Today's Monday Essentials:
- New Spin on the Filner Scandal: The news around Mayor Bob Filner's alleged sexual harassment has been grim, as new details come out and more people demand he step down. But the "Internets," as they are known to do, have put a new spin on the scandal: memes. La Jolla Patch has taken a look at the jokes being made at the mayor's expense.
- Good News/Bad News: Thanks to a new San Diego Police Department storefront at the RB Library, officers should be closer when you need them. The bad news, of course, is that you might need them in the first place. RB has seen lots of residential burglaries recently. And though some of it is user error (leaving garages and doors open), others are just part of the steady beat of break-ins in the community.
- Up Close with Supervisor Dave Roberts: The Rancho Bernardo Community Council is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the RB Library, with guest speaker county Supervisor Dave Roberts. If you come out, you'll get a chance to chat with him during an informal meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. before the meeting, and hear him talk about county issues as the guest speaker.
- It's Not Me, It's You: The latest jobs numbers came out late Thursday, and showed a slight increase in San Diego's unemployment rate. That's probably not what jobseekers want to hear, and neither is this: In some cases, job applicants are the ones holding themselves back. AOL Jobs has an idea of six (common) resume mistakes you might be making. The job market is tough for many people for many different reasons, but don't let these six things be some of them.
- More Money, More ... : A commenter on RB Patch's Facebook page thinks Filner's current scandal shows Congress needs to change how we handle elections. "All this crap about filner came out during the election and idiot people still voted for him!!!!!!!! Money should not be an issue in any election each candidate should be given equal amount from congress so the best person gets elected not the one with the most money!!!" Do you agree?
