- Food insecurity in our neighborhood is real. Local nonprofits are here to help. You can help, too. Drive through and drop off your food donation at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church (RBCPC). Donations will go to 4 Community Care nonprofit food pantry. The pantry serves families and seniors living in the PUSD boundary. Donations requested: canned meats, vegetables, and fruits; pasta and pasta sauces; cereal and oatmeal; sweet and/or salty snacks; peanut butter and jelly. - As if COVID-19 were not enough of a plague on our existence, the Influenza Virus (the annual flu virus) is wreaking havoc on San Diego residents. According to the County Health and Human Services Agency, the number of flu cases reported so far this year continues to outpace the number of cases during the same time each year for the past five years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot every year. The flu vaccine is especially important for people at higher risk of having serious complications from the virus, such as people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, people 65 years and older, and those who live with or care for others who are at higher risk.
