  1. Repairs to streetlights, potholes, parks, sewers, water mains, broadband connections, electric vehicle charging networks, these are some of the infrastructure issues being discussed at meetings being held in San Diego Neighborhoods. "The city’s infrastructure needs over the next five years are an estimated $5.7 billion," said council member Marni von Wilpert for District 5. "We wanna make sure we have brush management under control and fire breaks so when there is a wildfire, we are protecting homes," said von Wilpert. 2. While February is usually our wettest month, it now appears that we are unlikely to get much rain. “The jet stream usually sags into Southern California with storms in winter, but high-pressure ridges are pushing it up into the Pacific Northwest and Canada,” said James Brotherton, a forecaster at the National Weather Service in Rancho Bernardo. If the situation continues, it will worsen our drought and may limit our grass watering allowances in the future. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. 3. Thinking of joining The Ed Brown Center for Active Adults? Wondering if you will fit in? The age range is 50s-90s. The center offers a variety of classes, such as: watercolor painting, drawing, tap dancing, fitness, yoga, chair yoga, Pilates, tai chi, and more. They also offer bridge, Rock Steady Boxing, card games, needlework club and playreaders theater group. Members are welcome to attend the hot lunch program for those 60+ on weekdays for a small, suggested donation. The center requires social distancing and masks.
