  1. Pave our streets with recycled tires? The RB Community Council sent a letter to the City of San Diego encouraging the city to recycle and reuse tires, as much as possible, in accordance with the city's zero-waste program. The petition requested that the city implement a pilot program for rubber sidewalks and Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) for our roadways. CalRecycle’s Green Roads program has developed RAC, which is a mixture of used tires and asphalt. Rubberized sidewalks are comfortable to walk on and RAC roads are safer and require less maintenance. (RB Community Council)
  2. Lose your home insurance? An increase in the number of fires may mean high risk. Now in 2021, many in the county are being dropped by their insurance companies. Non-renewals more than doubled from 2015 to 2019 in ZIP codes including Rancho Bernardo. If you are canceled, act quickly. Learn what you can do if this happens to you. (KPBS)
  3. Parkinson’s support group — Nurse practitioner Sherrie Gould will discuss options for persons with Parkinson's disease. Gould is a Parkinson's movement disorder specialist and will talk about medications available. The free meeting is for those with the disease and their care partners. The meeting is at 10 a.m. today at San Rafael Parish Hall. (San Diego Union Tribune)
