San Diego County Property Taxes Due Friday

Homeowners who miss the deadline may face penalties.

The first installment of San Diego County property taxes is due Friday.

Dan McAllister, Treasurer-Tax Collector for San Diego County, said that a total of 981,879 parcels in the county is a record. Even still, with the downturn in the housing market, the county anticipates that there will be a tax revenue shortfall of $48 million since 2009. Total revenue is expected to be $4.4 billion.

County property owners are required to pay by Friday to avoid penalties.
