Students at Bernardo Heights Middle School will present ‘Seussical Jr.’ Their teacher, Katie Newbanks, created the Bernardo Heights Theatre Co. utilizing students to act, be the tech crew, be the set designers, and assist with creative aspects of the production. A Rancho Bernardo woman and her sister have published a book called "From Auschwitz with Love: The Inspiring Memoir of Two Sisters’ Survival, Devotion and Triumph.” The book tells of the sisters' experiences under the Nazi regime. “I want them to remember and never let it happen again,” Ruth Grunberger Mermelstein said. “All the antisemitism we see now is very scary.
