- Walk through a “fairy tale secret garden” in Westwood. Stroll the winding paths to find colorful succulents, water-wise plants, and a gazebo in Bernardo Heights. Visit the vendor booths for handmade crafts, nature-themed jewelry, garden art, plants, and plant arrangements. The self-guided tour features six gardens in Poway and Rancho Bernardo and is set for April. Master Gardener experts will be on hand to answer gardening questions. - San Diego County health officials have urged residents to get all the recommended COVID-19 doses, including the additional dose and booster shot. "COVID-19 vaccine additional doses and boosters offer protection against the omicron variant, prevent serious illness in most people and keep people out of the hospital," said Wilma J. Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., county public health officer. "San Diegans should get all the recommended vaccine doses as soon as they are eligible." - Want to become a cat or dog foster parent? The Helen Woodward Animal Center offers an opportunity to join their team as a foster. By opening your home to animals for short periods of time, foster families enable the Center to take in more animals and save more lives.
