- Their contract has expired. Is a strike imminent? Supermarket workers are dismayed by the expiration of their contract on Monday. Negotiations between the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 770 and local supermarkets broke down this past weekend, but union members continued to work under terms of a pact. - A San Diego judge ruled that Ashford University must pay more than $22 million in penalties for making misleading statements to prospective students about career outcomes, cost, and financial aid. - Three PUSD administrators won awards from the Association of California School Administrators. Valley Elementary School Principal Ricardo Cecena was named Elementary Principal of the Year. Lana Nguyen, director of educational technology, was named Administrator of the Year. Assistant Principal Yael Bozzay of RBHS was named Secondary Co-Administrator of the Year.
