  1. West Nile Virus Returns. It is once again time to check your flower pots, children's outdoor toys, pools, etc., to see if they contain standing water that may breed mosquitos. West Nile Virus is a bird disease which is spread to humans through mosquito bites. So, don't breed those mosquitos on your property. Visit the Fight-the-Bite website for more information. (Patch Press Release)
  2. Know about AIs? How About Deepfakes? It may not be advisable to put your picture, or your children’s pictures, out on the internet. There is a simple new software that lets people put your face onto the body of another. Early deepfakes were pornographic in nature, sometimes taking the face of a Hollywood actress, or political person, and placing it onto a sexually explicit scene. Now Facebook engineers are using artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and track deepfakes back to their creator. (KPBS) ?
  3. SD Animal Control Brings You Touchless Pet Adoptions. Now you can adopt your pet online. Search the website to learn about pets available, fill out the form, and click Find a Pet. Pet Photos will appear on your screen so that you may choose your favorite pet. Don't wait! Find your best friend today. (SDDAC )
