- Stone Ranch Elementary’s new principal wants to be a role model. After working as a substitute teacher, principal, Larry Hausner felt that teaching was his calling. He saw a need for male role models in schools. Hausner finds Poway USD to be student centered and focused on equity and inclusion — an atmosphere that he is drawn to. - Last spring, Poway High football captured the Palomar League championship. Coronavirus shortened the season to 5 or 6 games with no postseason. Rancho Bernardo, which lost the regular-season finale at Poway, has some returning starters on defense as well as a quarterback, a running back and three offensive linemen. Del Norte has six returning starters on offense and another nine on defense. On Friday Del Norte hosts Escondido, Poway visits Granite Hills, and Rancho Bernardo visits San Marcos.
