REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Department of Justice awarded Redondo Beach with a $13,698 community safety and justice grant to fund automated license plate reader technology.

The DOJ's Office of Justice Programs offers grants to help strengthen community safety, advance civil rights and support victims of crimes.

"We must ensure that our local law enforcement agencies have access to the tools they need to maintain public safety while prioritizing Americans’ civil rights," said Congressman Lieu. "Each of the OJP grants coming to coastal Los Angeles County will advance efforts to support victims of crime, improve community safety and promote equity in our justice system. I look forward to continued work with our federal, state and local partners to keep our community safe."
