Any Of This Stolen Loot Yours, Redondo Beach? LAPD Wants To Return Items To You

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A watch repair shop near downtown Los Angeles that was raided by police in August turned up hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, some of which may belong to Redondo Beach residents, police said.

The stolen items include hundreds of pieces of jewelry, high-value purses, collectible coins and sunglasses, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police are now searching for the rightful owners of these items. There is an estimated $300,000 worth of stolen property from around the county, police said.

At least one Redondo Beach resident has positively identified and claimed the stolen property, police said.

"Two victims of residential burglaries and one victim of a commercial burglary have positively identified their property," police said. "The victims are located in the cities of Redondo Beach, Temple City and Valencia."

The items were recovered on Aug. 18, when police served a search warrant at a Los Angeles business "that was receiving stolen property," according to an LAPD statement.

The items were also recovered from the business owner's home, police said. Charges are pending against the owner of the raided business, which wasn't identified, according to the LAPD.

Residents who were burglarized between Jan. 1, 2016, and Aug. 17, 2016, were urged to visit a temporary police gallery to see if any of the stolen items are theirs. There's a form to fill out if you believe any of the items are yours.
