Blotter: Security Guard Scuffle
Shoplifting, break-ins and other crimes are all in a week's work for the Redondo Beach Police Department.

officers had a light week from April 29 through May 5, if the week's Part-I Crime Statistics Recap document is any indication. Police received reports of both residential and commercial burglary and robbery.
He Really Wanted That Phone
Officers are searching for a 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic male with a thin build in his 20s in connection with a robbery on the . Apparently, the man shoved his victim and stole the victim's cellphone.

Police Search for South Bay Galleria, Riviera Village Shoplifters
On April 28, police arrested Jovan Maurice Meadows in connection with an attempted robbery at a store in the South Bay Galleria at about 8 p.m. Officers believe Meadows took merchandise without paying, then got into a scuffle with a security guard as he tried to leave. Police recovered the items.

On the same day and in the same mall at about 1:35 p.m., someone stole clothing from a store. Police are looking for a 35-year-old, 6-foot-2-inch black man with a heavy build. Officers believe he was driving a whlte Nissan Altima with California license plates.
On May 30, police arrested Michael Rodriguez, alleging that he purchased gift cards at the South Bay Galleria with checks from a closed bank account. Officers recovered the gift cards.
A business in the 1700 block of South Catalina Avenue filed a report about jewelry stolen between 2:30 and 4:20 p.m. on April 29, according to police. Officers are looking for a 22-year-old white woman with a medium build in connection with the case. She's about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds, according to police.
Lock Doors, Windows … and Safes
In the early morning hours of May 2, someone pried open a door to a business on the International Boardwalk and stole money from an unlocked safe. Police do not have a suspect.
A resident of the 100 block of Matthews Avenue reported a stolen passport on April 29. According to police, the burglar came in through the front door at some point between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. There's no word on whether the door was locked.
A would-be burglar apparently didn't find what he or she was looking for after climbing through an unlocked kitchen window in the 2300 block of Harriman Lane at some point between 4:30 and 6:45 p.m. May 3. Nothing was taken from the home, according to police.
