CVS, Grocery Outlet To Replace Shuttered Haggen Store in North Redondo Beach
The exact opening date was not announced but officials expect it to open in 2018.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- Two stores will be moving into the long-shuttered Haggen supermarket in north Redondo Beach, the Daily Breeze reported.
The news was announced by Mayor Steve Aspel at the annual State of the City address Friday morning. The stores moving in are Grocery Outlet and CVS and will take up approximately 13,000 square feet, according to the Daily Breeze. The exact opening date was not announced but officials expect it to open in 2018, according to the Daily Breeze.
Grocery Outlet, based in the Bay Area, is an "extreme value" grocery store, akin to Smart & Final, Aspel said, as reported in the Daily Breeze.

Councilwoman Laura Emdee helped brokered the deal even though the location of the stores are outside her district because her constituents demanded it, according to the Daily Breeze.
“My constituents go to that grocery store,” she told the Daily Breeze. “They were very adamant they needed to have another grocery store in there.”
