EBT Outage Planned For Californians On Food Welfare, Benefits

Officials urged EBT holders to plan ahead as an outage was expected this weekend.

CALIFORNIA -- State officials reminded Californians that the Electronic Benefit Transfer, a vendor for its public assistance and welfare programs, would see a 24-hour outage this weekend. The outage is scheduled from 11 p.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday.

During this 24-hour period, EBT cardholders with the CalFresh and CalWORKs programs will not be able to use their EBT benefits and will not be able to access the EBT client website at ebt.ca.gov, officials said.

Officials urged EBT cardholders to plan ahead for shopping needs and to get cash.
