Former Redondo Beach Councilman Hopes To Unseat Incumbent School Board Members

While the race isn't expected to be as contentious as other city races, it has already generated allegations of campaign finance violations.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- A former Redondo Beach councilman is hoping to unseat one of the incumbents on the Redondo Beach Unified School District Board of Education up for election this year, the Daily Breeze reported.

Michael Christensen, Brad Serkin and Brad Waller easily won their seats four years ago because there were no challengers. This year, Matt Kilroy, a former councilman and a retired teacher at Adams Middle School, hopes secure one of their seats, according to the Daily Breeze.

Christensen, Serkin and Waller are running in a slate for their seats on the school board that governs the 9,700-student district in the March 7 election.

While the race isn't expected to be as contentious as the race for mayor, city council and the waterfront redevelopment measure, it has already generated allegations of campaign finance violations, according to the Daily Breeze.
