The decrease in gas prices correlates with the decline in the cost of crude oil, analysts said. The price of a barrel of oil dropped 19 cents to $99.46 in late-morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange—a sharp decrease from the 30-month high of almost $115 earlier in May.
