Gas Prices Stop Dropping

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday for the second consecutive day after dropping for 30 consecutive days and 65 of the previous 66.

The increase of three-tenths of a cent to $3.59 followed an increase of a half-cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Before the back-to-back increases, the price had fallen to its lowest amount since Dec. 27, 2011.

Despite the increases, the Los Angeles County average price is 1 cent less than one week ago, 18.9 cents lower than one month ago and 21.9 cents below one year ago.

In Redondo Beach, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.64, according to GasPriceWatch.com.
