L.A. County Prosecutor Charged With Tax Fraud Tied To Redondo Beach Home
Prosecutors said Nicole Lai Nhu Vo failed to report income from her rental property in Redondo Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- A deputy district attorney in Los Angeles County has been charged with tax fraud in connection to a home she owned in Redondo Beach, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said.
Nicole Lai Nhu Vo, 39, of Tustin was charged April 11 with four felony counts of filing a false tax return and one felony count of willful failure to file a required return, according to the OCDA.
Vo is accused of failing more than $328,000 in capital gains from the sale of her Redondo Beach, prosecutors said. She also owes more than $25,000 in taxes from the sale, prosecutors said.

She is also accused of falsely claiming the home as her primary residence and failing to report the income earned on renting out the home on her tax returns in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014, prosecutors said. She also allegedly failed to report her rental income on her 2012 tax return.
Vo has been placed on leave by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office pending the outcome of the case. If convicted she could face up to five years and eight months in state prison.

The California Franchise Tax Board investigated this case, the OCDA said.
