Why are you seeking this office?
I’m seeking the office of Mayor because I felt that I could only be so effective from the audience and change was needed. For example, the current Mayor was appointed without any defined process. More time was spent discussing leaf blowers than appointing a Mayor.
What is the most pressing issue that Redondo Beach faces in your opinion, and what do you intend to do about it if elected?
There are many, but economic development is one of the most pressing. Redondo has been anti-business for the last eight years. Because of the lack of tax revenue from businesses, Redondo’s
Infrastructure is crumbling. So there were three bond measures in the November election, aka taxes on residents and cost for city services have increased. We need a more balanced economy and less lawsuits.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates?
I believe I am more pragmatic and have years of facilitating policy development for online child protection: note IFFOR and ASACP. I’m not using this position as a stepping stone, only to serve the people in Redondo to improve their quality of life and Redondo’s future.
What issues are close to your heart and how will you address them if elected?
Return to more civil City Council meetings that adhere to established policies and the Brown Act and show respect to all residents.
What is the best advice anyone has ever shared with you?
From an executive at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children during a child protection conference in Rome: GROW OR DIE!
