Photos: City Celebrates Memorial Day
With help from Redondo Union's Jr. ROTC program, the city honors fallen soldiers from all branches at the new memorial.
A large crowd of people gathered at on Monday afternoon for Redondo Beach's official Memorial Day celebration.
This was the first Memorial Day ceremony held at the park; the city broke ground on the park's memorial during the 2010 ceremony.
Redondo Beach Mayor Mike Gin, most of the councilmen, Assembleywoman Betsy Butler, State Sen. Ted Lieu and other city officials attended the event, which was hosted by the city, the Veterans Memorial Task Force and the local Elks Lodge.

After the ceremony, many of the crowd gathered at the next door for a barbecue.
