The 20th annual L.A. Ride for Kids raises awareness about pediatric brain tumors.
Despite early-morning rain, hundreds of motorcyclists turned out to raise awareness of pediatric brain tumors through the 20th annual . In the process, participants raised $227,315, according to a tweet from a ride representative.
Hitching a ride with the motorcyclists were numerous children who are fighting or who have fought brain tumors, as well as their families, according to a news release from L.A. Ride for Kids. Many riders and passengers waved at passerby as they rode down the streets.
The ride, which began at about 10:30 a.m. at the Honda Motor Company in Torrance, wound around the Esplanade and came up Avenue I in Redondo Beach before continuing around the Palos Verdes Peninsula and back into Torrance.
