Photos: Puppies Galore at Park

Redondo Beach and other Southern California animal lovers kicked off "Big Sunday weekend," an event dedicated to community service, with an event at the Redondo Beach Dog Park.

Rescue organizations for dogs, cats and rabbits attended the event, as well as representatives from pet stores, veterinary clinics and dog trainers. Additionally, organizations gave half-hour presentations on guide dog training, agility and animal disaster preparedness.

Visitors had the chance to bid on silent auction items and win prizes in raffles. The animals, however, were still the stars of the show.
