High, gusty winds bring hazardous surf and rip currents to the South Bay.
Strong winds brought high surf and to the South Bay on Saturday and Sunday.
Beach Cities surfers took advantage of Saturday's moderately sized waves, but by Sunday, the wind was strong enough to drive beachgoers out of the water.
Over the weekend, the National Weather Service issued high surf and high wind advisories for Los Angeles County. The wind advisory, which warned of 40-45 mph gusts, will remain in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday.

The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts called for 6- to 8-foot waves on exposed, west-facing beaches.
